DISASTER PREPAREDNESS ORIENTATION VIDEOS
The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) Disaster Preparedness Orientation Video was developed for employees to prepare for emergencies and disasters and to provide an opportunity to understand their roles and responsibilities during disasters. Every DHSS employee plays an important role in preparing for emergencies and disasters.
The Department Disaster Coordinators Committee, implemented by former DHSS Secretary Rita Landgraf (2016), was developed to provide a Disaster Preparedness Plan for every facility within all divisions and to establish consistency across the department. Through viewing the interactive videos, employees will be reminded of their role during a disaster, which includes possibly reporting to work during emergencies. The video also introduces skills to implement a family preparedness plan as well as additional tools to assist them in preparing.
This initiative will assist each division in completing their disaster preparedness plans and training their employees.
