The goal of Delaware Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) is the reduction of unintended teenage pregnancies and teenage births. Delaware’s teenage pregnancy and teenage birth rates continue to show improvement. TPP is supported through a variety of government, school and community-based programs, services, and initiatives. Some of these include:

Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (APP)

Supported with a grant from Health and Human Services, APP is designed to coordinate statewide adolescent pregnancy prevention initiatives, identify needs, target high-risk areas and populations, oversee a TPP media campaign, offer educational workshops and technical support, as well as assist with linking programs and resources. 

School-Based Programs

Several high schools in Delaware have teen pregnancy prevention programming provided through their School Based Health Centers.

Community-Based Programs

Several organizations in Delaware are funded to provide teen pregnancy prevention programming. These include the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware and Children and Families First.
