Within Health Systems Protection, the Child Care Inspection program works to protect, preserve and promote the physical and mental health and social well-being of children attending Child Care Facilities in Delaware. The program helps ensure a safe environment which minimizes the risk of injury and the incidence of communicable disease. The Child Care Inspection Program provides plan reviews and health inspections of:
- Day Care Centers
- Large Family Child Care Homes
- Residential Child Care Facilities
- Day Treatment Programs
The Child Care Inspection Program works cooperatively with the Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL), as outlined in the DelaCare regulations. OCCL is granted the authority to set regulations and license child care facilities under the Delaware Child Care Act.
