The mission of the Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is to protect the health of Delawareans by preventing childhood lead poisoning and promoting health among children (0 – 6 years of age) through education, safe environments, screening and early intervention.
Lead screenings for the week of April 3, 2023:
HHLPP accomplishes this mission by:
- Increasing public awareness of the dangers of lead poisoning
- Preventing/controlling lead hazards before exposure occurs
- Universal screening of pre-school children
- Case management, education and/or environmental investigation for children found lead poisoned.
