Welcome to the Office of Radiation Control (ORC). Our mission is to protect the health and safety of Delawareans by regulating the use of ionizing radiation in medicine, industry, research and education, and to provide health protection resources in the event of a radiological emergency.
This office performs pre-operational inspections for new radiation machine facilities, inspects and registers facilities that use radiation machines, registers facilities that use radioactive materials, registers radiation service providers, and issues certificates for administering radiation to human patients, by qualifying medical and dental radiation technologists and technicians.

Change to Delaware Radiation Control Regulations
Notice to Practice Community, posted June 1, 2019
This notice describes new regulatory requirements for the healing arts community, established in final regulations published on November 1, 2018. The notice provides highlights of the new requirements by section in the newly published regulation, and announces a grace period for implementing new requirements, to end June 1, 2020. Effective November 13th, 2018, the following sets of regulations (Title 16 Delaware Administrative Code, 4465 Chapter 74, Radiation Control) were published as final rule: Parts A, B, D, F, H, K, and X. More information is available here.
