    Service Description
    Food Benefits

    SNAP/Food Stamps/EBT Cards

    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps families supplement their grocery budget to afford nutritious food essential for health and well-being.

    Food Pantry

    Emergency food for households in need provided in partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware and Catholic Charities. Walk-ins welcome 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. No referral needed; photo ID required.
    Health Related Services

    Medicaid

    Medical assistance to eligible low-income individuals and families, as well as to seniors and those who are blind and/or disabled whose income is insufficient to meet the cost of necessary medical services.

    Delaware Healthy Children Program

    High-quality, low-cost health insurance coverage for uninsured children of Delaware families with incomes at or below the 200% federal poverty level.

    Diabetes Support

    Medications, supplies, and other services available to those with diabetes to alleviate an emergency condition.
    Emergency Services

    Emergency Shelter / Transitional Housing

    Emergency shelter, including help locating shelter beds or vouchers for emergency hotel stays, and transitional housing funds to assist individuals and families facing homelessness.  

    Energy / Utility Assistance

    Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program and Delaware Energy Assistance Program
    Financial assistance to help eligible low-income households with energy bills, including heating and cooling costs, as well as help during energy crises and for energy-related expenses.

    Emergency Cash Assistance

    Financial assistance for rent, utilities, emergency shelter and other critical needs to help maintain self-sufficiency and prevent homelessness during unexpected emergencies.

    General Assistance

    Cash assistance to low-income individuals who do not qualify for federally funded programs, such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Social Security benefits.

    Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

    Cash assistance program for those caring for a minor child during job training and search.
    Family Services

    Purchase of Care / Child Care

    Support for families to enable the caretaker to hold a job, obtain training or meet special needs of the parent or child.

    Kinship Care

    Assistance for grandparents, aunts, uncles and other relative (non-parent) caregivers to provide immediate needs for clothing, shelter, health, safety and educational supplies during the 180-day transition period when a child first moves into the non-parent caregiver’s home.

    Clothing Closet

    Walk-ins welcome 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. No referral needed; photo ID required.
    Public Health Clinics
    Women Infant and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program for pregnant and nursing women, infants and young children.
