    Our members are from multiple agencies focusing on one goal: educating the public on safe driving habits in an effort to prevent injuries in Delaware.

    Statistics

    • In 2013, 100 people were killed in fatal crashes on Delaware Roadways.
    • 45% of the fatal crashes involved an impaired driver.
    • 33% of fatal crashes involved an aggressive driver.
    • 46% of people killed in Delaware crashes in 2013 were not buckled up.
    • 20 of the 100 fatalities were motorcyclists. 35% of those motorcyclists were not wearing a helmet.
    • 2 of the 100 fatalities were bicyclists.
    • 26 of the 100 fatalities were pedestrians.

    • 15% of traffic fatalities in 2013 occurred in Kent County.
    • 35% of traffic fatalities in 2013 occurred in Sussex County.
    • 71% of people killed in Delaware fatal crashes in 2013 were male.

    • Buckle Up!! Seatbelts save lives.
    • No Texting While Driving – Pay attention to the road and your surroundings. You cannot drive defensively if you are not paying attention.
    • Practice Patience! Don’t turn into the aggressive person who speeds, runs red lights, and weaves through traffic. Practice patience behind the wheel and always obey the posted speed limit and traffic signs.
    • STAY ALERT for Pedestrians and Bicyclists!
    • Don’t Drink and Drive.
