Learning how to use the right technology can make all the difference in finding and keeping a job, succeeding in school and in day-to-day life. Our Technology Training Services team can help you choose and learn to use assistive technology options including:
- Screen enlargement and screen reading software
- Video magnifiers (also known as Closed Circuit TVs), both portable and stationary
- Accessible notetakers and Braille displays
- Optical character recognition technology to convert printed text to computer text
Our technology trainers will create a plan based on your individual needs and train you to use the equipment. Training may be offered in a DVI lab or, as needed, in the school or workplace. We also consult with employers to find technology options to support workers with visual impairments.
Technology Assessment
We’ll create a baseline skills assessment of your skills and, for Vocational Rehabilitation clients, create a plan that helps you. meet the requirements in your job description.

Our trainers will demonstrate assistive technology to help you learn about available options and their capabilities, and will help you learn to use the ones that best meet your needs and comfort level.

Our computer labs are a great place to learn or practice typing skills for workplace success.

Visit our computer labs in Georgetown and New Castle to learn or practice skills on both PC and Apple products equipped with a variety of screen reading and screen magnification software.
