    Volunteer with DVI

Every day, volunteers help the Division for the Visually Impaired make a lasting difference in the lives of Delawareans who are blind or visually impaired. Whether it’s preparing accessible textbooks, assisting with outreach events, or supporting youth programs, your time and talents can open doors to independence for others.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, we’d love to have you join us.

    How Volunteers Make a Difference

Volunteers at DVI work alongside staff to support individuals of all ages—children navigating school with vision loss, adults learning new skills, and families seeking support.

Here are just a few examples of how volunteers contribute:

    • Preparing educational materials in Braille and large print for K–12 students
    • Labeling and cataloging accessible textbooks in our Instructional Materials and Resource Center
    • Helping with outreach and events, like Camp Abilities Delaware and statewide educational fairs
    • Assisting with mailings and consumer feedback surveys that help us improve our services
